Nice to know max had a good blow afterwards, another indication that the run was needed,definitely would look for @ more galloping track hoping returned home well and eaten up the next day … I’m convinced max will come on plenty for the run and reward the team with solid performance next time,thanks for sharing Matt I’m sure all the patience & hard work will bare fruits sooner or later all the best my friend 👍🏻

The track was never going to be ideal but I don’t except the track was the reason. It certainly did not help . He was having a good blow after the race and it seems he needed the run more than we thought. Trust me I am bitterly disappointed. Next run will tell more but a big improvement is needed.
The horse ran well and finished, it was a confidence giving run anyway, no injuries and will go again. Your allowed 5 minutes of disappointment then get back on looking forward and never tell anyone always big up your horse!!
He will come on a bundle for that run and you have a good Horse and rider plus a trainer that knows the time of day. Great video and thanks for sharing and if I respectfully can give you some advice ……. Keep at it and patience will prevail in the end. Owner of Ocodango Boy 🥕🥕
This was about getting his confidence back, not winning. At least that’s what the jockey and trainer said in so many words. Patience is everything in horses.
First time watching. Really good. I love horseracing and this is better than what i see on itv . I have folliwed racing since the mid 70s. Its disapointing to read and hear daily that horse racing is struggling . All these ideas they have to turn it around are failing i think. They need to do something . Good luck with your horses lad.
Lily knows her stuff. First thing she said was the track was too sharp, needs a galloping track. Goes to show how much has to be taken into account when weighing things up. Lots of positives to take from the race.
I saw this race and thought that considering this was his first proper race of the season he did pretty well. He won't be the first horse to find Taunton too sharp. He won't be the last. I sense much better time ahead, and not too far ahead at that.
He had a good run like what lily said it was it was his first proper run of the year and the ground and the track was against him . But you can't put it past Max he enjoyed himself out there and the run will bring him on .

Since we didn't see the race, no one can comment. Learn from this and go forward. If he hadn't improved by the end of the season send him hunting and look for another.

I would love to comment,all i can say is i hope it was a good day out? Cant say much having never rode a horse,nor trained or owned. And i cant remember i last stood in the winners encusere(payout que)at the bookies. I do try tho.
@onecarefulowner bro,I now live in Cape Town South Africa. Had a great lunch at Milnerton golf club today. Legends of racing were there,be it jockeys,trainers and big money owners. Get yer self to The Met at the end of January. Golden does,so does Haggias,Ms.Venettia Williams has also been known to take a few back from here. Or buy and get one trained here? I suggest Candice Bass Robinson. We all know lady trainers get the best out of the horses without emptying them out within 3 runs. She is also from The UK. Her dad,Mike was there today,I wanted to meet him,he was the Sir Mike Stoute of The Western Province before he handed over to his daughter. The cost of a horse much less,the training fees also. Down to you brother,Google them. Ya can have a horse running at Kenilworth or Durbanville for a fraction of the cost while checking a tan. I see soooo many UK owners winning here bro. The only advice I have is Google it and do it.
First time Ive seen what Lliy Pinchin looks like. Shes a babe, but that aside Ive said many many times as William Hill Radio will confirm, I think Lily is one of the very best riders of one over a fence .. I know this was a hurdle but over fences Lliy is a really gifted pilot. They settle for her and jump from fence to fence .. Lliy always presents them at a fence on the right leg and has all he tools of any male jockey.. Lovely hands and great judge of pace but most of all a Francomesque eye for a stride approaching a fence... Id love to know if she did showjumping or hunting
Do not know what to make of this run .although Max was tenderly ridden. I agree Taunton is tight but I was disappointed he did not hold his posi turning in. Max is better at right hand tracks re all his better performances Sandown, Rasen and even his flat run at Chateau I therefor think Exeter should be circled for a 0 to 125 handicap.

A nice flat galloping track is ideal. His distance remains a head scratcher for me. Thing with Max is , he looks outpaced over any distance. He does not quicken. More than just fitness for me. Shame horses cannot talk.
Yes, we all said that yesterday. Which ever way you dress it up , it was a poor run for me. As an owner the horse comes first but at the same time, it’s sport . The majority of owners spend ££££££ and never have a win. Looked at your horse on RTV and his record on RP. Hope he gives you some fun for your money. He’s not a tryer.
They was giving you some flannel there... I will be surprised if the horse wins anytime soon. Think they want the training fees.. Been there done that.. But a lovely looking horse, just not kribensis.. Lol.

For me, he has run so far below his best form I am very disappointed. However the next run will tell all once he is back on a more suitable track. @@onecarefulowner I get you.. Listen I have had 4 horses 2 with Easterby and 2 with Burke.. We do it for the love of the game.. Most people just concentrate on the betting and financial side.. They are beautiful animals, but loss leaders.. But goodluck. I enjoy the uploads. I'm 52 ex military, but full of arthritis, so I no longer get to the races much.. I wish I could more often, just to see and be near these beautiful animals.

Slightly disappointed but basically it was is 1st run. Looking at is action looks like a soft ground horse to me will come on for that interesting next time out .
Thanks for the message. Max goes on any ground , his best form is on ‘Good’ but when ‘Soft’ it slows others down as he is not blessed with a turn of foot. Onwards and upwards
It helps I suppose if Roger had more NH horses for max to train along side to give a more accurate guide as to whether Max is operating at a good HCP mark ..

I will put him out to grass and if you’ve got a daughter let her ride him around the field And you’ll get better. Pleasure out of that and it won’t cost you the money that’s costing you.

He did win by 17 lengths at Sandown for me last year and then was placed in a £40,000 race two races after so hardly a donkey? ..I agree that the run at Taunton is some way of his best and i have to trust it was fitness. If any of us got into racing to have world beaters we would need bottom less pits of money. The bulk of horses are moderate to average. He will win a race somewhere

NH horses often take longer to mature and don't worry overly, I'm a chasing man but remember walkey, slowly catchee monkey.

It's going to sound greatly cynical of me but sometimes both trainers and jockeys just tend to give owners a false analysis of outcomes ..
Yes it does sound cynical but I know it goes on. Hope not in my case. I make my own mind up. I listen to everyone. Sometimes too many opinions. Ha
